"What is it like where you live?"
BY WORD OF MONTH is a all-year-round photographic project between Maud Mignard and I. From February 2018 to January 2019, each month, we took a series of 4 photos around a common topic, following a prompt we decided when we made the project up, and posted it on Social Networks.

Around 12 different topics during 12 months, we followed each other in our respective lives. It was en excellent exercise for exploring out of our comfort zone under time constraint, as well as trying to create an harmonious composition with photos taken at different times during a same month.

I met Maud through Instagram, at the end of 2016, while we were living in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. I was instantaneously touched by the beauty of her feed. Funny thing is that we both contacted each other at the same time, and, shortly afterwards, we managed to meet in person in a "photo walkshop" organised by Strong Island UK. She is such good company, and, rapidly, our mutual interest in conceptual photography led us to meet regularly for informal photowalks around our adopted city. Over the few months we spent photo-wandering together, on the top of making a true and wonderful friend, I find my photography skills improved a lot and it seems obvious to me that her influence has been crucial. She went back to her home in French South Brittany mid-2017, and, in order to keep alive the link that bonds us, we decided to make up some photo-projects that we could carry on together despite the distance. BY WORD OF MONTH is our second shared project after ALPHABRIT.
